Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale edged. The nose is fresh and youthfully firm and concentrated with aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, white florals and citrus fruits overlaid by layers of pungent gunflint and minerally reductive elements. Medium-full bodied, this has a well-concentrated core with flavours of white and yellow stonefruits interwoven with flinty and minerally lees and reductive complexities. The mouthfeel has light, granny textures and a balancing grainy grip with subtle background acidity. The wine flows positively to a dry, textured finish combining sweet stonefruit and savoury, flinty minerals. This is a moderately concentrated Chardonnay with stonefruit and flinty, reductive lees and sulphide flavours on a dry, grainy-textured palate. Match with seafood and savoury poultry, pork and veal dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from Brancott Road, Southern Valleys, WBP and fermented in barrels and tank, partially with indigenous yeasts to 13.6% alc., the wine aged 6 months on lees, part in new oak. 17.5-/20 Nov 2016 RRP $16.99
