O:TU ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Aug-2018
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly packed and gentle in presentation with harmoniously integrated and subtle aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries, with fresh herbs and a delicate layer of green beans, indicating secondary development. The nose unfolds mineral nuances with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion with a tight core of passionfruit, stonefruit and herbs with green bean notes. The fruit is moderately rich and sweet, and flows smoothly with fresh, underlying acidity lending energy. As the wine carries, the green bean elements emerge and are retained on the lingering finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, smooth flowing Sauvignon Blanc with gently rich fruit flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries herbs and green beans, the wine showing some secondary interest and development. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Dysart’s’ block, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 1.9 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on light lees. 17.5/20 Aug 2018 RRP $28.99
