O:TU ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Apr-2012
Fruit from the ‘Otuwhero Estates', cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.8 g/L rs, the wine kept on lees for 2 months. This is a blend of best tank components. Bright, very pale straw colour with green hues, pale on rim. This is softly rich and gently packed with aromas of nectarines, capsicums, smoke and flinty lees work, unfolding notes of tropical fruits and herbs. Dry to taste, this is softly luscious with flavours of ripe nectarines and gooseberries interwoven with lime and red capsicums. Open and plush, this has a soft mouthfeel, with restrained acidity, but an underlying core which leads to a sustained finish with herb and mineral nuances. This is a softly textured Sauvignon Blanc with an array of ripe flavours. Serve with Mediterranean influenced poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2+ years. 17.5+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $22.95
