O:TU Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Apr-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is softly full and fine in concentration with fragrant aromas of passionfruit, white florals and thirst-quenching chalky minerals. The aromatics are taut with good intensity and penetration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is refined in expression with elegantly concentrated and subtly rich, juicy and vibrant flavours of passionfruit, white florals and nettles, unfolding mineral elements. The fruit is balanced by refined, mouthwatering acidity that lends energy and vitality, and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line leading to a stylish, restrained finish of fresh herbs. This is an elegantly concentrated and refined Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant fruit flavours of passionfruit, floral, nettle and minerally flavours. Match with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2+ years. Estate fruit from the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on light lees. 18.0/20 Apr 2017 RRP $22.99
