O:TU Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Dec-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour, pale on rim. The nose is fresh and tight with intense aromas of bright gooseberry fruit infused with minerals. This is very clear and pure, with lifted esters and herbs, along with a steely edge. Dry to taste, this is tightly bound and elegant in proportion with subtly juicy fruit flavours of gooseberries, fresh herbs and minerals, enlivened by zesty acidity. The mouthfeel is fine-featured with a gentle linearity and drive, leading to a delicately flavoured finish with good length. This is a classical Awatere Sauvignon Blanc with crisp and racy gooseberry and minerally flavours. Match with seafood and Mediterranean-inspired salads and vegetable dishes over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the company's Awatere Valley vineyards, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 5.0 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. 18.0-/20 Dec 2012 RRP 23.99
