O:TU ‘Blend 102′ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Dec-2012
A single vineyard wine, the best fruit from the ‘McKee' block, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.8 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees 4 months. Bright, pale straw colour with green hues, near colourless on edge. The nose is rich and packed with aromas of gooseberries and passionfruit entwined, growing in depth and concentration, with pungent tropical notes emerging in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, mouthfilling flavours of passionfruit and gooseberries flow smoothly across the palate. The textures are soft and add to the breadth and density. Slippery acidity underlines the fruit and is subtly mouthwatering. The acidity leads the fruit to a soft and mellow, lingering finish with tropical fruit nuances. This is a softly rich and smooth Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of passionfruit flavours. Match with herb-marinated poultry dishes over the next 2 years. 18.0+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $28.99
