O:TU Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Apr-2012
Brilliant, very pale straw-yellow colour, near colourless on edge. The bouquet is delicately fresh and subtle with pure aromas of gooseberries, white florals and fresh herbs infused with minerals, very Awatere in expression. Dry and light-bodied, this has a beauty with its delicacy and fine proportions. Gooseberries, limes and florals are expressed with clarity, and a gentle lusciousness. The textures are soft and lacy, the wine finishing with gentle nuances of herbs and minerals. This is a very delicate and refined Sauvignon Blanc with Awatere steeliness. Match with shellfish over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Otuwhero Estates', cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. ad 3.3 g/L rs, the wine kept on lees for 2 months. 17.5-/20 Apr 2012 RRP $19.95
