Ostler Waitaki Valley Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 31-Jul-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale edged. This has a fresh, firm and tightly held nose with a pure and clean heart of white stonefruits and florals melded with minerally and nutty lees elements. Delicate wet-stone nuances add interest. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, light but focussed flavours of white stonefruits, nuts and leesy minerals are underlined by crisp, racy acidity. The palate is refreshing and lively, revealing some richness and smooth, lush textures that carry through to an elegant, lingering, subtly nuanced finish. This is an elegant, lively, off-dry Pinot Gris with light stonefruit and lees flavours. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. A combination of fruit from multiple sites. Clones 457. GM 2-21 and Barrie, hand-picked and WBP, the fruit from the cooler sites fermented for aromatics, the warmer for textures with solids and on lees to 13.0% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $24.00
