Ostler ‘Blue House Vines’ Waitaki Valley Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 30-Jun-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with a very pale edge, this has a full, soft bouquet of spiced pears, lifted yellow flowers and honey, with a core of flint and minerals. Off-dry, the wine shows savoury, spicy, stonefruit flavours on a brisk and lively, crisp palate. There is a good depth to the fruit and is in balance with the raciness of the acidity. A feature is the long and nuanced finish. Fruit from the ‘Blue House' site of Rob and Pam Crosbie, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 9.5 g/L rs. Serve with antipasto, seafood, poultry and Mediterranean cuisine over the next 4-5 years. 17.5+/20 Jun 2011 RRP $28.00
