Osawa ‘Flying Sheep’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
Moderately deep ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge. The bouquet is full and even, showing savoury dark red berry and cherry fruit melded with subtle nuances of dried herbs and earthy notes and a little resinous oak. Red floral and raspberry liqueur elements emerge with aeration. Light-medium bodied, the flavours of strawberries and cherries are light in expression, and reveal subtle layers of herbs and earth, lifted by red florals. The mouthfeel features soft, dry, grainy tannins and fresh, lacy acidity which enhances the fruit sweetness. The palate is carried by the texture nd acidity to a light, cherryish finish. This is a light-bodied Pinot Noir with light berried fruit and some savoury nuances. Serve with antipasto, tapas and charcuterie over the next 2-3 years. 100% Pinot Noir destemmed and given a cold soak, and fermented to 12.37% alc., the wine aged in seasoned French oak barrels. 16.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $35.00
