Osawa ‘Flying Sheep’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
Bright, moderately deep, light straw-yellow colour with light-golden hues. The nose is gently full with soft aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, citrus fruit and a layer of lemon-curd MLF melded with nutty and flinty mineral notes. The aromatics are steely and fresh in expression. Medium-bodied, the palate features a light, soft core of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruits entwined with lemon-curd MLF flavours. The mouthfeel is refreshing with delicate, lacy acidity and the wine is guided by a finely-textured phenolic line. As the wine flows, the flavours recede, leaving a light, soft and dry finish with nutty and mineral hints. This is a light, softly refreshing unoaked Chardonnay with stonefruit and lemon-curd MLF flavours. Match with seafood, poultry and antipasto over the next 2-3 years. 100% Chardonnay fermented in stainless-steel to 13.76% alc. and dryness, the wine undergoing batonnage and 100% MLF, and bottled without oak contact. 16.5-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $28.00
