Orlandi Contucci Ponno ‘Rubiolo’ Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC 2012

Montepulciano from Italy - Other
Review Date : 29-Aug-2015
Dark ruby-red colour, lighter on the rim, but still youthful in appearance. The bouquet is elegantly expressed with tightly held and deep aromas of black fruits, entwined with mineral nuances, herbs, earth and pepper. Fine and slender in proportion, this has tightly bound black and dark red berry fruits sweetened by a hint of jam and liquorice, unfolding herbs and minerals. The fruit is underlined by a dry-textured mouthfeel. This is becoming a textural rather than fruit-focussed wine now and is drinking well. Hand-picked Montepulciano, fermented to 13.5% alc., and bottled without oak. (1.5 Litre) 15.5+/20 Aug 2015 RRP $40.00
