Opawa Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Dec-2015
Fruit primarily from the ‘Opawa’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in large oak cuve to 13.0% alc. and 2.57 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is softly full and voluminous with packed aromas of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits, green capsicums and layers of fresh herbs, lifted by floral elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is full- up-front and accessible with luscious passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours. This is softly mouthfilling, and the wine flows smoothly, the palate soft in texture, but balanced by fresh, lacy acidity. This is harmonious and carries seamlessly to a soft, passionfruity finish with sustained flavours. This is an elegantly full, accessible and gently luscious, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a seamless flow. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 17.5+/20 Dec 2015 RRP $22.50
