One Off Syrah/Viognier Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - North Island
Review Date : 06-Nov-2015
Syrah from the Bridge Pa district in Hawke’s Bay given several hours skin contact and cool-fermented, the wine aged on lees, blended with 7% Gisborne Viognier, the wine at 13.0% alc. and 1.0 g/L RS. Light candyfloss pink colour with some depth and slight purple hues on the rim. The nose is very elegant and finely presented with intense aromas of spicy cherries, quince, delicate red and pink florals and a suggestion of strawberry confectionary, along with thirst-quenching herbal elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of spiced cherries, red berries and florals are delicately concentrated and lifted. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively, and the wine flows smoothly with slippery acidity lending drive. The wine follows a refined core and line with very fine textures, leading to a refreshingly crisp, dry finish with nuances of strawberry confectionary. This is a light, smooth and slippery, dry rosé with light, lifted spicy fruit and floral notes. Serve as an aperitif, with dim sum and tapas over the next 2 years. 17.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $31.99
