One Off ‘Summer White’ Hawke’s Bay 2014

Blended White from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Nov-2014
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, pale edged. This has a soft, full nose with gentle aromas of fresh yellow stonefruits, exotic florals and herbs, the fruit building in depth and presence with aeration. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the mouthfeel is refreshing and bracing with mouthwatering flavours of stonefruits, limes and herbs, revealing a piquant exotic floral lift. The flavours are up-front, but show a degree of restraint, allowing the phenolics to emerge and carry the wine to a dry, crisp and moderately long, fine-textured finish. This is a crisp and dry, blended white with good up-front weight and presence. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2 years. Made from Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer and Albarino from 3 different sites, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.3% alc. and <2 g/L RS, the varieties handled and aged on lees separately. 17.0+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $31.99
