One Off ‘Sticky 101’ Hawke’s Bay Gewurztraminer 2016

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-Jul-2017
Full, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the edge. This has a full nose with solidly packed, rich and decadent aromas of honey and nectar, along with marmalade, harmoniously infused with notes of exotic tropical fruits and rose-petal elements, and musk. Very sweet to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is well-concentrated with a deeply packed, but rounded core of ripe exotic tropical fruits, honey, marmalade, musk and rose-petals. The mouthfeel opulent and unctuous with soft acidity enhancing the richness and smoothness of the palate. The wine has a positive heart with drive, and carries to a long, lingering finish of honey and musk. This is a rich and opulent botrytised Gewurztraminer with a deep, rounded core of exotic tropical fruits, honey and musk. Serve with fruit desserts, crème caramel, crème brulee and blue cheeses over the next+ years. This refers to the making of classic botrytised sweet wines. 100% botrytis-affected Gewurztraminer fruit from the company’s site on the Maraekakaho terraces, hand-picked and fermented in stainless-steel and barrel to 11.0% alc. and 145 g/L RS. (375 ml) 18.5/20 Jul 2017 RRP $24.95
