One Off ‘Organic’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 22-Dec-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with a little depth, lighter edged. The nose is full and softly voluminous with gently packed aromas of white and yellow stonefruits along with honeysuckle notes and exotic florals. This is attractively fragrant, showing good depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has an elegantly concentrated core of white and yellow stonefruits along with hints of florals and honeysuckle, with edgy, savoury minerals. The mouthfeel is refreshing and mouthwatering with lively acidity, and the wine flows along a taut and very fine-textured line, leading to a slender, lingering finish of stonefruits and minerals. This is an elegantly concentrated dry Pinot Gris with attractively fragrant aromatics and a mouthwatering palate of stonefruits, florals and steely minerals. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the company’s Maraekakaho vineyard, managed organically since 2014, cool-fermented in tank to 12.0% alc. and <1.0 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. Certified BioGro organic. 18.0/20 Dec 2017 RRP $24.99
