One Off ‘Lola May’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 29-Sep-2016
Pale strawberry-pink colour with some depth, lighter edged. The nose is fresh and firmly concentrated with aromas of strawberries and watermelon entwined with red floral notes and mouthwatering mineral nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has delicately luscious and juicy flavours of watermelon and strawberries, subtly lifted by red floral elements, fresh herbs and minerals. The mouthfeel is soft with gentle acid crispness, and a fine and delicately textured line. The aromatic floral and mineral elements blossom and carry to a long, elegant, mouthwatering finish of strawberries and florals. This is an elegant and delicate dry rosé with strawberry, watermelon and floral fruit, refined textures and acidity, and thirst-quenching mineral notes. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and tapas over the next 2 years. 93% Pinot Noir and 7% Pinot Gris from Maraekakaho, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 2.43 g/L RS, the Pinot Gris spending time in seasoned oak, and the wine spending time on lees with batonnage. 18.5/20 Sep 2016 RRP $24.99
