One Off Hawke’s Bay Sangiovese Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Oct-2014
Sangiovese fruit from Maraekakaho, given several hours skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and dryness, the wine given a few weeks lees contact. Pale strawberry-pink colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is soft with light strawberry and watermelon aromas and subtle red floral and confectionary detail, revealing earthy nuances with aeration. Dry to taste and light-bodied, gently luscious and succulent fruit flavours of watermelon are lifted by red floral and fruit pastille notes. The mouthfeel is bright and lively, and very accessible with low phenolics and a light acid laciness. The wine flows seamlessly, growing a little in fruit richness, leading to a dry, lingering finish. This is a light and easy, dry rosé with fruit sweetness and fresh liveliness. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes and tapas over the next 2 years. 17.0/20 Oct 2014 RRP $29.99
