One Off Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 22-Nov-2011
Bright, fullish, light golden-yellow colour with a pale edge. The nose is very full and bold with ripe tropical fruit with nuts, oak and buttery forming a rich and dense amalgam. Dry and full-bodied, this is soft and rich with creamy textures and warmth from alcoholic generosity. This shows up-front, ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours interwoven harmoniously with butterscotch, toast and nutty oak. The acidity is soft and enhances the mouthfilling style. The lusciousness carries to the soft, rich finish which features cream and nutty flavours. Made from Chardonnay fruit from Te Awanga fully barrel-fermented by wild yeasts to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 66% new French oak on lees with MLF. A traditionally-styled Chardonnay that will match roasted pork and be a crowd pleaser over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Nov 2011 RRP $24.95
