Omarino Canterbury Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 19-Nov-2013
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with light garnet hues on rim. This is elegantly proportioned on bouquet with a tight core of ripe red berry fruits, unfolding to reveal some spice and oak detail and subtle herb elements. Light-bodied and light in fruit expression, the flavours of red cherries and strawberries are sweet, but a little diffuse. This is very accessible and approachable. A core of fruit depth carries the flavours of cherries, liquorice, dried herbs and spices with a growing tannin presence that provides a light and textural mouthfeel that leads to a dry grainy finish This is a light, easy-drinking Pinot Noir with a fine, textured core and line. Mach with antipasto and tapas over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Omarino’ vineyard fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in French oak barrels. 16.0+/20 RRP $25.00
