Omarino Canterbury Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 19-Nov-2013
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow, pale edged. This has a full, voluminous and fresh nose with an amalgam of ripe yellow stonefruits and honey, revealing some floral lift and attractive spice notes. Off-dry to taste, the palate has light flavours of apricots and a subtle array of stonefruits infused with honey. The palate features a light, textural line which provides a dry mouthfeel, and lively acidity enhancing the tension and sweetness of the fruit as it flows to a light, slightly sweet, honied finish. This is an aromatic Pinot Gris with gentle, honied flavours and some texture on the palate. Serve with poultry, pasta and a range of first courses over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Omarino’ vineyard, stainless-steel fermented to 12.0% alc. and 7.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 16.5-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $22.00
