Omaka Springs Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Nov-2012
Bright straw-yellow colour with hints of green-gold, pale on edge. Light and delicate aromas of white stonefruits unfold to reveal subtle notes of rose petals and fresh herbs. Off-dry to taste, gentle flavours of stonefruits, pears and rose-petals are enhanced by honeysuckle nuances and build on the palate. The acidity is balanced and lacy, providing good freshness, and a little textural dryness carries through to the finish. Some alcohol warmth shows. This is a subtly nuanced Pinot Gris with floral and honied interest. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 2+ years. Pinot Gris fruit from the ‘Kennedys Road' and ‘Falveys' sites, fermented to 13.0% alc. and 12.5 g/L rs. 1740 cases made. 16.5+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $19.95
