Old Coach Road Nelson Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 01-Feb-2017
Full, even, light straw-yellow colour, a little paler on the rim. The nose is light in expression and uncomplicated with restrained aromas of white and yellow stonefruits and gentle yellow floral and nutty nuances. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has restrained flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with notes of florals, honeysuckle and nutty elements. The palate has good presence and mouthfeel and the fruit is guided by a light phenolic thread, with integrated acidity. The wine flows positively to a moderately sustained finish of stonefruits. This is a light stonefruit flavoured, dryish Pinot Gris with good mouthfeel and presence. Serve as an aperitif and with most white meat courses over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Queen Victoria’, ‘Redwood Valley’ and ‘Rabbit Island’ vineyards fermented to 13.0% alc. and 8.71 g/L RS. 15.5+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $13.00
