Bright, light golden-yellow colour, full with some depth. The bouquet is soft and broad with densely packed aromas of ripe stonefruits brightened by tallow florals and entwined with hints of honey and nuts. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, softly presented and mellow flavours of yellow stonefruits are harmoniously melded with layers of honey, nuts and minerals. This has good weight and mouthfeel, with soft acidity resulting in a restrained and shy expression. There is an underlying alcohol drive that carries the palate to a subtly flavoured, moderately sustained finish. This is a harmonious and gently layered, mature, off-dry Pinot Gris with good weight and presence. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 18 months. Hand-picked fruit, fermented in seasoned oak, mostly with indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc. and 6.2 g/L rs, the wine aged 11 months in oak. 16.5-/20 Apr 2013 RRP $34.99
