Ohau Gravels Ohau Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Jan-2014
Full straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter on rim. This has a full, softly interwoven bouquet of ripe gooseberry fruit, herbs and yellow capsicums, lifted by yellow floral notes along with some cooler grassy elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, soft, lusciously juicy flavours of gooseberries, capsicums and tropical fruits are melded with grass and herbs and a hint of bean-like development. The mouthfeel is soft with the fruit sweetness and balanced acidity providing richness and good liveliness. A fine, gently textured line carries the flavours of grass and tropical fruits to a moderately long, sweet finish. This is a soft and lush Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and yellow fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with poultry over the next 2 years. Hand-picked fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with around 5% by indigenous yeasts in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $23.99
