Ohau Gravels Ohau Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 26-Aug-2013
Brilliant, even, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour. The bouquet is full, broad and open with soft, ripe yellow-stonefruit and tropical fruit aromas. Honey and floral elements are harmoniously interwoven and grow in volume. Dryish to taste, fulsome flavours of ripe stonefruits, honey and musk fill the mouth, revealing some floral and spicy lift. The palate is open and very accessible, with good body and juicy fruit enhanced by fresh acidity. Soft and rounded, there is good alcohol drive which carries the flavours to a moderately rich and luscious finish. This is a full, soft and rounded, dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, honey and musk notes. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked fruit fermented with a small portion in barrel to 14.5% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $23.99
