Nockie’s Palette Central Otago Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 31-Aug-2022
Deep ruby-black, slighter on the rim. The nose is full and attractive, with aromas of dark cherry and plum underlying dark herbs, earth and spice. Medium-bodied, succulent aromas of cherry and plum melded with thyme, black pepper, and earthy linger. The fruit has excellent balance of ripeness and depth; the herbaceous nuance added richness and interest. Smooth, powdery tannins provide structure. This Pinot Noir shows a dark fruit core adorned with herb, spice, and a structured palate. Match with lamb koftas and roasted pork over the next 5+ years. A multi-regional blend, fermented with 20% whole bunches to 13.5% alc, aged 11 months in French oak barrels, 20% new oak. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Aug 2022 RRP $45
