Bright, even, medium yellow-gold. Fine and moderately consistent bead. The nose is elegantly full and complex, with aromas of baked apple, poached pear, underlying savoury development of undergrowth, citrus peels and pastry. Full-bodied, aromas of baked apple, poached pear and lemon peels entwined with mushroom, sourdough, delicate spice and toasted brioche. The multi-layers of flavours melded harmoniously and developed savoury, undergrowth details contribute to complexity and interest. Vibrant acidity provides vitality and flows on a chalky palate; toasty nuances linger and lend a lengthy finish. This gorgeous Reserve Methode Traditionelle shows complex layers of development on a full, enticing, chalky mouthfeel and long lingering finish. Match with turducken and grilled crayfish over the next 5+ years. 98% Chardonnay, 2% Pinot Noir, 12.5% alc, 5 g/l RS, aged 7+ years on lees. 19+/20 pts (96 pts) Oct 2023 RRP $96
