No. 1 Family Estate Cuvee No. 1 Methode Traditionelle NV, Marlborough

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2022
Bright, full, pale yellow-gold with depth, even colour throughout, persistent and fine bead. This elegant bouquet is packed with stonefruit, citrus fruit and floral elements, entwined with bready-yeasty autolysis. Medium-bodied, dry to taste, aromas of lemon and a suggestion of pineapple intertwined with peach and nectarine form a refined, taut core, unfolding florals enriched by a fine layer of bread and yeast. The wine has an elegant mouthfeel, well-proportioned acidity, and a light-textured phenolic line. The wine is supported by lively, crisp acidity and carries to linearity. This elegant Blanc de Blancs MethodeTraditionnelle shows a refined palate with lovely fruit, fine autolysis and textures. Match with baked fish and chicken terrine over the next 2-4 years. 100% Chardonnay, 12.5% alc, 6.12g/l RS, on lees for 2 years, disgorged Nov 2021. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Nov 2022 RRP $38
