No. 1 Family Estate Assemble Méthode Traditionelle NV, Marlborough

Sparkling Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Oct-2023
Bright, even, medium yellow-gold. Consistent fine bead. The nose is gently full, with aromas of baked apple, pear, baguette crust, marzipan and yeasty autolysis. Medium-bodied, aromas of baked apple, pear and lemon melded with baguette crust, marzipan and creamy, yeasty elements. The flavours are integrated and complex; the creamy texture provides an opulent mouthfeel along with creamy mousse. The vibrant acidity cuts through the rich palate and carries a refreshing yet complex, savoury lingering. This complex, non-vintage Methode Traditionnelle with integrated fruit and autolysis characters on a creamy palate. Match with smoked fish pate and pork jowl terrine over the next 3-4 years. A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 43% Pinot Noir and 7% Pinot Meunier, 12.5% alc, 4.6 g/l RS, minimum 3+ years on lees. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Oct 2023 RRP $34
