Nieto Senetiner Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 19-Feb-2015
Very dark, deep, near impenetrable black-red colour. The nose is elegantly presented with intense primary aromas of cooler-spectrum blackcurrant, cassis, bell-pepper and leaf notes, unfolding hints of stalk. This has freshness and good clarity. Medium-full bodied, deep and well-concentrated flavours of blackcurrants and cassis are detailed by mint and green pepper notes and lifted by oak. The mouthfeel is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity and robust, grainy tannins underline the fruit and fill the palate. The extraction grows in prominence leading to a moderately long, dry-textured finish. This is a solidly constructed, firmly extracted Cbernet Sauvignon with good depth. Serve with roast lamb, beef and venison, and hard cheeses over the next 6-8 years. Fruit from Vistalba and Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, from vines 43 y.o., fermented to 14.0% alc., 40% of the wine aged 6-8 months in seasoned French oak. 17.0+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $17.99
