Nieto Senetiner ‘Benjamin’ Mendoza Tempranillo 2014

Tempranillo from Argentina
Review Date : 19-Feb-2015
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge. The nose is a little restrained, but showing fresh, bright and aromatic dark raspberry fruit with nuances of jammy whole berry fermentation. The nose unveils savoury game, pepper and red floral notes with aeration. Medium-bodied, rich dark red and black berry fruit flavours provide a sweet and lush mouthfeel. The fruit is up-front and balanced by integrated grainy tannins and lacy acidity, forming a good, deep core. As the wine flows, the flavours recede, leading to a light, dry, vinous finish. This is a moderately deep, juicy and aromatic Tempranillo that finishes dry. Serve with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern lamb and beef dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from Lujan de Cuyo from vines 10–15 y.o., fermented to 13.0% alc. 16.5/20 Feb 2015 RRP $11.99
