Nieto Senetiner ‘Benjamin’ Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina
Review Date : 19-Feb-2015
Dark, deep, black-hued red with some garnet on rim. This has a fresh, elegantly present, primary fruited nose of blackcurrants and mint notes. The fruit is harmonious and softly focussed with varietal clarity. Medium-bodied, moderately concentrated flavours of blackcurrants, leaf and herbs form a rounded core. The fruit is enlivened by fresh acidity and supported by blocky tannins. The extraction and grip grows to provide a deep, and firm palate line with gutsy mouthfeel, and along with the acidity carries the wine to a sustained finish with blackcurrant leaf notes. This is a firm and robustly extracted Cabernet Sauvignon with some fruit depth. Serve with roasted lamb and beef, and with hard cheeses over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from Lujan de Cuyo from vines 10–15 y.o., fermented to 13.5% alc. 16.0/20 Feb 2015 RRP $11.99
