Ngatarawa ‘Stables Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2010

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Jun-2011
Very dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, this has a fine and intense nose of black fruits and cracked black pepper intermingling with meat and game notes, along with spicy, toasty oak. On palate a very direct wine with intense black berry fruits, Asian spices and pepper, quite succulent and juicy. Medium-full bodied, there is firm tannin grip and slightly elevated levels of acidity which carry through to the finish. 100% Hawke's Bay Syrah, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in oak. Match with grilled or roasted game meat dishes over the next 4-6 years. 17.0-/20 Jun 2011 RRP $22.00
