Ngatarawa ‘Stables Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-May-2016
Full, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour. This has a fresh and fragrant nose with lifted aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, pear detail and exotic florals forming a deep core along with subtle flinty and nutty notes at the heart. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours are light and reserved in expression, showing white and yellow stonefruits, pears and subtle nutty elements. The wine is guided by light, fine, phenolic textures and energised by fresh, balancing acidity, carrying to a soft, lightly nuanced finish. This is a light, dry Pinot Gris with attractive aromatic detail and a reserved, but balanced palate. Serve with most white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Clones GM2-15 and Lincoln Berrysmith from the Bridge Pa Triangle, tank-fermented to 13.5% alc. and <1.9 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 16.5/20 May 2016 RRP $19.00
