Review Date : 24-Feb-2017
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues on the rim. The nose is finely proportioned with harmonious aromas of dark-red and black plum fruit, blackberries and subtle notes of dark herbs with hints of aromatic oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate has sweetness and richness, with juicy flavours of black plums and dark-red berry fruit, melded with dark herb and lifted oak. The fruit sweetness is balanced by light extraction and grip, providing elegant structure and mouthfeel. Nuances of nutty oak and earth unfold, and carry to a sustained finish. This is a moderately rich Merlot with black and dark-red plum and berry fruit flavours, and nuances of herbs, nuts and earth, on a structurally balanced palate. Match with beef and lamb dishes over the next 3-4 years.
