Ngatarawa ‘Stables Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-May-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues and some depth. This has a refreshing and intense nose with aromas of fragrant citrus fruit, pineapple, tropical fruits and a little confectionary lift and a cutting, steely edge. With aeration, herbs flint, and spicy, nutty oak emerges along with some toasty richness. Medium-full bodied, the palate is refreshing and crisp with flavours of citrus fruits and tropical fruits entwined with spicy and nutty oak. The fruit forms a soft, rounded core which flows along a fine-textured line, the acidity in the background lending good tension and energy. Spicy and nutty oak unfolds and melds with the citrussy fruit carrying to a long, nutty finish. This is a refreshing and crisp Chardonnay with citrus and tropical fruit flavours along with spicy and nutty oak. Match with grilled and roasted seafood and poultry over the next 3+ years. Clone 15 and Mendoza fruit from Bridge Pa Triangle and Dartmoor fermented in tank with oak contact with 15% new equivalence to 13.5% alc., 10% aged in seasoned oak, the wine given batonnage and 20% MLF. 17.0+/20 May 2016 RRP $19.00
