Ngatarawa ‘Stables Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Jun-2011
Bright, light lemon-hued straw-yellow colour with some golden hues. This has a savoury, grapefruity bouquet with lifted spicy oak and musky, nutty elements. Dry, soft and full on palate, there are savoury fruit flavours indicating some bottle development. Some mealiness shows, adding to the quite intense spicy, nutty oak which has musky-musty nuance. The lowish acidity and rounded mouthfeel suggests this should be consumed over the next 3-4 years. Hawke's Bay fruit fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine then aged in French oak. Match with poultry, pork and hard cheeses. 15.5-/20 Jun 2011 RPP $22.00
