Ngatarawa ‘Stables’ Hawke’s Bay Merlot 2010

Merlot from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 19-Jun-2011
95% Merlot with 5% Malbec, Hawke's Bay fruit, fermented to 14.0% alc. and given some oak contact. Dark, deepish ruby-red colour with some purple hues, this has a soft, dense, classical Merlot bouquet of earthy plums and tobacco with a solidness of style. Full-bodied on palate, this shows lush dark berry and plum fruit flavours framed by grainy tannins and a robust structure. A straightforward, flavoursome red that will keep over 4-5+ years. Match with hearty pasta and red meat dishes. 16.0+/20 Jun 2011 RRP $15.00
