Ngatarawa ‘Glazebrook’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Feb-2017
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour, pale on the edge. The nose is elegantly proportioned with refreshing and penetrating aromas of pungent passionfruit entwined with subtle notes of tropical fruits, gooseberries, and fresh herbs, unfolding chalky, mineral nuances. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate possesses a tight core unfolding flavours of passionfruit and gooseberries with notes of tropical fruits and fresh herbs. The wine flows along a fine, grainy, chalky line, and the mouthfeel enlivened by mouthwatering acidity. The palate leads to an elegantly concentrated finish with sweet passionfruit and herb flavours. This is a finely concentrated, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with chalky textures and a refreshing palate. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from a single site on Wrekin Road, Brancott Valley, a portion given 4 hours skin contact, and tank-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 5.8 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP $22.00
