Hawke’s Bay fruit fermented in stainless-steel and French oak to 13.6% alc., 20% of the wine aged approx. 5 months in barrel, the wine undergoing batonnage, without MLF conversion. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is very fresh and elegantly expressed with tightly bound, light and pure aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruit at the core. Subtle tropical fruit, nutty and toasty oak elements, and minerally nuances emerge with aeration. Medium-full bodied, elegantly concentrated flavours of citrus and stonefruits are enriched by creamy, nutty barrel-ferment notes. The mouthfeel is underlined a fine phenolic line and enlivened by crisp, refreshing acidity. This has good linearity, leading to a firm dry finish with citrus and tropical fruit and nutty flavours. This is a crisp, dry-textured Chardonnay with citrussy fruit and subtle creamy notes. Match with creamy-sauced seafood and poultry dishes over the next 3 years. 17.0/20 May 2015 RRP $19.00
