Nevis Bluff Central Otago Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 04-Aug-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with some depth and pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. This has an elegant nose with clear and clean aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, along with suggestions of nutty notes, some honeysuckle, infused with mineral detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of white and yellow stonefruits are fresh and lively, lifted by white florals and enriched by honeysuckle nuances. Some nutty and mineral elements add to the interest. The fruit is moderately sweet and rich, and is balanced by enlivening acidity. The wine flows along a soft, fine-textured line with some phenolic grip which carries to a dry finish with florals and honeysuckle. This is a fresh, crisp, dry Pinot Gris with moderately rich stonefruit flavours and some floral and honeysuckle detail. Match with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘L’Attitude’ vineyard, WBP, making five indigenous yeast ferments, 20% in barrel to 14.0% alc. and 1.2 g/L RS, 80% of the wine aged 6 months on lees. 17.5/20 Aug 2016 RRP $27.00
