Neudorf ‘Twenty Five Rows’ Nelson Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 20-Jun-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with pale green-gold hues, lighter on rim. The nose is very elegant and refined, with good depth, intensity and concentration of piquant white stonefruit and minerally aromas along with subtle citrus fruit detail. This is refreshing with mouthwatering wet stone elements. Medium-bodied, the palate features deep and softly mouthfilling flavours of white stonefruits and minerals, intermixed with nutty and wet stone elements. This has weight, presence, vinosity and concentration, unfolding layers of stonefruits, minerals and flint from the core. Soft, lacy acidity lends vitality and linearity, and the wine flows to a mouthwatering finish. This is a mouthfilling and mouth-wateringly fresh, focussed Chardonnay with white stonefruit and mineral flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 3-4+ years. Mendoza clone fruit from the first 25 rows of ‘Rosie’s Block’ (formerly called the ‘Hill Block’), Moutere, hand-picked, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in stainless-steel with high solids to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 7 months in tank and 3 months in neutral puncheons, on lees with minimal batonnage, but 100% MLF. 94 cases made. 18.5-/20 Jun 2015 RRP $28.00
