Neudorf Nelson Pinot Rosé 2018

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 20-Sep-2018
Bright, very pale candy-floss pink with some peach hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and taut with finely bound aromas of cherry fruit intermingling with quince and light red florals, along with delicate mouthwatering minerals. The aromatics show good depth and intensity with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has delicate flavours of cherries and strawberries with subtle notes of quince and red florals. Though delicate, the fruit is piquant, lending a dry, thirst-quenching mouthfeel. The fruit forms a very fine line with good acid drive, and the wine carries to a mouthwatering dry finish. This is a poised dry rosé with delicate strawberry and quince flavours on a refreshing palate, in the Provence style. Serve as an aperitif, with canapés and antipasto over the next 2 years. Hand-picked fruit, clones 667, 777. 113, 114, 10/5 and 5, from the ‘Home’ and ‘Flaxmore’ vineyards, Upper Moutere, 75% crushed to press and 25% given a soak, and all indigenous yeast fermented in stainless-steel with 20% in seasoned barrels to 13.0% alc., and dryness. 616 cases made. 18.0+/20 Sep 2018 RRP $25.00
