Neudorf Nelson Pinot Noir Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 05-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale salmon-pink colour, very light edged. This has an elegantly presented nose with delicate aromas of cranberries and pomegranate entwined with nuances of fresh herbs and red florals, along with mouthwatering flinty and mineral nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly concentrated and finely proportioned with a core of savoury pomegranate fruit with subtle notes of cranberries, herbs and florals, unveiling thirst-quenching minerals. The mouthfeel is fine-featured with delicately rich fruit flowing on a phenolic threaded line, enlivened by lacy acidity. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish of pomegranate and strawberry elements. This is an elegant, dry rosé with delicate cranberry and pomegranate flavours and a fine-featured, refreshing palate. Serve as an aperitif, and with salmon and tuna over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit, clones 667 and 777, from the Neudorf ‘Home’ and ‘Flaxmore’ sites in the Upper Moutere, 90% WBP with no skin contact and tank-fermented, and 10% saignee barrel-fermented in seasoned oak, all by indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc. and dryness. 465 cases made. 18.0/20 Oct 2016 RRP $25.00
