Neudorf Moutere Nelson Riesling Dry 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 23-Apr-2013
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on edge. The nose is very refined and delicate with pure lime fruit, white floral and mineral detail, revealing subtle savoury yellow floral and honeysuckle nuances which blossom with volume. Dryish to taste, the mouthfeel is very refined and delicate with beautiful harmony. An amalgam of white and yellow florals, lime fruit and faint honeysuckle detail shows with building richness and a degree of succulence on the mid-palate. Fine, lacy acidity enhances the liveliness, energy and fruit sweetness and carries the flavours to a very long, sustained, dry finish with delicate exotic citrus notes. This is a very fine, delicate and harmonious dryish Riesling with a suggestion of lusciousness. Match with Thai, Vietnamese or Japanese cuisine over the next 5-6+ years. Hand-picked Riesling fruit from the ‘Hill Block’ on Rosedale Road, WBP and inoculated to ferment to 12.0% alc. and 9.0 g/L rs with 8.6 g/L TA and pH 2.86, the wine aged on lees. 19.0-/20 Apr 2013 RRP $27.00
