Neudorf Moutere Nelson Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 23-Apr-2013
Hand-picked Riesling fruit from the ‘Hill Block’ on Rosedale Road, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 9.0% alc. and 47.1 g/L rs, with 8.9 g/L TA and pH 2.84, the wine aged on lees. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with pale green hues, light on rim. This has a very fine and tightly bound, intense bouquet with pure lime and lemon fruit along with honied notes intermingling with a hint of smoke and mouthwatering minerally elements. Medium sweet and light-weighted, luscious flavours of citrus fruits and honeysuckle gently fill the mouth. The palate is beautifully accessible and smooth, and underpinned by fresh, lively acid tension. Balance and harmony are the features and the wine has knife-edge poise between richness, and mouthwatering finesse. The flavours have excellent line and lead to a delicately luscious, lingering finish. Though tightly bound on bouquet, this medium-sweet Riesling is beautifully refined in its lusciousness and richness. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy foods over the next 5-6 years. 18.5+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $29.50
