Neudorf Moutere Nelson Riesling 2005

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Feb-2013
Fruit from the ‘Home' vineyard with some botrytis infection, WBP and stainless-steel fermented with indigenous yeasts to 10.8% alc. and 30 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues, youthfully pale. The bouquet is beautifully balanced and harmoniously aged with detailed complexities that become revealed in the glass. Lime fruit, florals, herbs, honey and toast are entwined and seamless in presentation. Off-dry to medium-dry in taste, layers of complex flavours of fruit and secondary development flow on palate, This has a building richness, the textures very soft and fine, and the acidity quite understated, but sufficient for energy and line that carries to a very long, sustained finish. This is drinking very well now, but will hold for some 3-4+ years easily. 19.5/20 Feb 2013
