Neudorf Moutere Nelson Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 20-Sep-2018
Moderately dark ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant and seamless in expression with aromas of dark-red berry fruit along with dark plums, revealing dark herb, spice and liquorice complexities. The aromatics form a very finely concentrated core. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly concentrated with layers of sweetly ripe dark-red and black cherry fruit entwined with dark plums, notes od spice and liquorice with dark herbs. The fruit forms a rich and succulent heart which is supported by supple, fine-grained tannin extraction with soft acidity, lending a degree of accessibility. The flavours carry to a long, lingering spicy finish. This is an elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with seamlessly interwoven flavours of dark-red and black cherry and berry fruit with plums, spices and liquorice on a fine-grained palate of finesse. Match with wild duck and pork over the next 6 years. Clones 777 and 5 from the ‘Home’ vineyard, fully destemmed and fully indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 15% new French oak with a further 4 months in tank. 303 cases made. Certified BioGro organic. 19.0-/20 Sep 2018 RRP $65.00
